A Weekend Affair

San Francisco has always been known for its eccentric quirkiness and artsy vibes, what with the rise of burgeoning street art and amount of art galleries popping up all over the financial district.

Asian Art Museum

Showing “Roads of Arabia: Archaeology and History of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” exhibition that examines the expansion of culture and change in economy through the use of trade routes traversing Mesopotamia and the Greco-Romans.  Objects excavated from over 10 archaeological sites spread through Arabia stand as evidence of the commercial dealings among which statues, glass work and jewelry can be found.

Legion of Honor

“Masters of Fire: Copper Age in the Holy Land” and exhibition on display through Jan. 4 In yet another exhibition about the Middle East where over 400 copper objects found by Israeli archaeologists in 1961 will be on display.

“This is the first United States exhibition devoted to the art and culture of the Chalcolithic period (Copper-Stone Age, ca. 5500–3500 BC) in the Southern Levant (modern-day Israel and surrounding lands) ” -Ancient Art Council

Multi-media artists Amy Ho, Dimitra Skandali with collaborators Heejin Jang and David Janesko, Reuben Telushkin, and Ben Valentine in collaboration with An Xiao Mina. The show examines urban aesthetic of the internet memes and how their development can alter the reality of mass culture.
